Are member profiles screened?
Yes. and No.
We do not do background checks or credit checks or call private detectives or you mother and ask about you. All of that is very expensive -- an expense that would have to be passed on to you. We'd be charging over $100 for you to simply list your profile.
And we've learned the hard way that no amount of screening can guarantee a person's good character. If we did screen, we would risk sending the message that our members are "safe" when no such guarantee is possible.
Instead, we believe in personal responsibility and trust our members to use caution and good judgment. We also believe that the overwhelming majority of men and women who register will be people who were attracted to our site because they, too, value integrity. There will always be exceptions, and we urge all members to be cautious at all times. Please read our advice about this by clicking on Precautions at the bottom of this page.
With that said, we had frequently have someone briefly look at new profiles as they are entered or when a profile is edited. We look for profanity, solicitations, accuracy of location, completeness of the profile and a host of other no-nos that you can read about in our Terms of Use.

How do I join and become an active member?
Step 1 - Create a profile by clicking "Free Sign Up" Step 2 - Click "Upgrade My Membership" so you can contact other members. It is free to receive mail and reply to mail you receive but all the fun is in making contacts with people who interest you, not waiting around for someone to discover you.
I cannot remember my handle or password...now what?
Our system will send you your password. Go Ahead and click Member Login to find the link to have your pw sent.
I need to change my password right away! Can you do that for me?
No, you can do that yourself when you are logged in by clicking "Members Area" and scrolling to the bottom and clicking "Account Info" - It's real easy.
